A South Essex MP was impressed when he visited a local Air Cadet unit in his constituency.
Rayleigh & Wickford MP, Mark Francois, who also serves as the Shadow Armed Forces Minister, paid a visit to 1474 (Wickford) Squadron, Air Training Corps, who form part of the wider Essex Wing, which numbers over a thousand cadets, across the County as a whole.
During a midweek drill night, Mark spoke with the cadets about his role in Parliament, as a Shadow Defence Minister and answered numerous questions about both the history and future of the Royal Air Force.
Speaking about his visit, Mark said:
“I would like to thank 1474 (Wickford) Squadron and their CO, Flight Lieutenant Matthew Hobson, for a very enjoyable visit. The Squadron are a lively and impressive bunch, a number of whom aspire to join the RAF and even to fly fast jets, like the Typhoon. I wish them all the best for the future.”
