Mark Francois MP with the Rev. Glen Mansfield, Rector of Holy Trinity Church, Rayleigh at the National Prayer Breakfast, held at Westminster.

A South Essex MP welcomed his local Rector to the National Prayer Breakfast, held at Westminster.

The annual occasion sees local church leaders, from across the country, come to Westminster to have breakfast with their local MPs and take part in a service of Christian worship.

Mark was glad to welcome the Reverend Glen Mansfield, the Rector of Holy Trinity Church, Rayleigh, as a participant in the service, which was held in Parliament’s ancient Westminster Hall and involved prayers, hymns and a sermon, officially presided over by the Speakers of both Houses of Parliament.

Speaking about the religious event, Mark said:

“It was a pleasure to welcome the Reverend Glen to Westminster, to this very well attended event, which drew together MPs and clergy from across the UK. I have worked closely with Glen before, via the Friends of Holy Trinity charity and so it was nice to share a service and breakfast with him in the partly 11th century Westminster Hall. It was a great start to the day.”
