Rayleigh and Wickford MP, Mark Francois, recently visited Leonardo in Basildon, to see firsthand their operations.
Leonardo, one of the UK’s leading aerospace and defence manufacturers, employ around 700 people at their Basildon site - bolstering the local economy and providing high-tech jobs and contributing to innovation in engineering and technology, both military and civilian.
Mark was delighted to be given the opportunity to have a tour of Leonardo’s state-of-the-art facility recently. During the visit, Mark was shown some of the capabilities being created there, including the design and development of thermal imaging systems, radar systems, radio communications, infrared detection, signal processing and network equipment.
Mark met with a number of Leonardo employees whilst visiting the site, several of whom were his own constituents, living only a few miles from the Basildon site.
