A South Essex MP paid tribute to HM Armed Forces, at a local Council Annual Civic Reception.
Rayleigh & Wickford MP, Mark Francois, who is also the Shadow Armed Forces Minister, praised the work of HM Armed Forces, at the Chairman of Rochford District Council, Councillor Simon Wootton’s, Annual Civic Reception at the Lawns, this weekend.
Later on in the function, Mark also conducted a charity auction, which helped to raise over £1,700 toward the Chairman’s new charity, the Chairman’s Fund, which is focused on helping young people, from across the Rochford District.
Speaking about the event, Mark said:
“As it’s not long since we celebrated Armed Forces Week, I thought it important to take this opportunity, gathered with local civic leaders from across our County, to pay tribute to our troops, both past and present, who keep us safe. It was also a pleasure to do that with Sergeant Ted Fell, a Chelsea pensioner, as one of the Chairman’s guests. Overall, it was a very successful event.”
