A South Essex MP presented a special shield to a local football club’s long serving supporter, at their recent end of season awards.
Rayleigh’s MP, Mark Francois, presented the Rayleigh FC Club Chairman’s Award to long time member Robert Smith, who has served the Club, in a variety of capacities, for over 25 years.
Commenting on the award presented at the club’s awards ceremony at the Chichester Playing Fields, Rawreth, Mark Francois, said:
“I have been associated with Rayleigh FC for many years now and have always been pleased to help hand out some of their end of season awards - which now takes a weekend as they field 66 teams, both male and female! Robert has been a loyal servant to this excellent club for a quarter of a century, so it was a pleasure to present him with the Chairman’s award, in recognition of his loyal service.”
